Grid Square 5563

Grid square 5563 is located in the west of Glasgow, near Pollokshields. It appears to be a mixed age area, withe some older and some newer buildings. Half of the area is parkland and the other half is residential.eg villas, some of which are flatted. The M77 slices through this area. The main land use is Bellahouston Park, which contains the Glasgow Ski Centre. The houses are likely to be older and the cost of land will be quite high, therefore, people living here are probably employed in business sectors.

Comparison of grid square 5563 and 5566

Both grid squares are located towards the west of Glasgow. However, the two areas are very different. Square 5563 is North of the Clyde while 5566 is to the south of the river. Square 5563 is made up of housing and parkyland, whereas square 5566 is mostly housing. The houses in square 5563 are much larger and so more expensive than in square 5566. Therefore the people who live in square 5563 will have a higher income and probably enjoy a better quality of life and have much more fun than those in square 5566. Square 5563 would probably be a safe, enjoyable area to live, but square 5566 would have a lower quality of living as it is probably quite a rough, spooky, dangerous area.

Grid square 5566 is located in the centre of Glasgow, on the north side of the Clyde. It has some fascinating aspects, such as the railway which runs through the centre of the area, which allows local people to travel without difficulty to places such as Jordanhill and Yorkhill.The A814, which passes through the centre of the grid square is also another main feature. The houses in this area are likely to be small council houses as the area is near Govan, so therefore it is not an ideal place to live. Therefore the cost of land would be quite cheap but the area is derelict.

Comparison of grid square 5563 and 5566

The grid squares are both located in the centre of Glasgow but contrast hughely. In grid square 5563, the houses are lucrative in a larger area in stark contrast to those in grid square 5566, which are derelict and council houses. From this information we can extract that the people living in grid square 5566 probably have a lower standard of living than those who live in grid square 5563. As grid square 5566 is located near Govan, it is likely to be an unsafe area to live, whereas grid square 5563 is likely to be a pleasant place to live.
